Quick Look at SCARES
The SCARES Club and individual members of the club work directly with the Georgetown-Scott County Emergency Management Agency to provide alternative communications for Skywarn observation and reporting, flood situations, snowstorms, lost person searches, community service, and other unforeseen emergencies.
Annual drills, tests, and alerts are conducted by SCARES as well as through Emergency Management. The club, with the aid and support of Emergency Management, purchased a repeater and continues to add to its functions and capabilities.
The club also supports other City/County agencies as requested by Emergency Management and other external entities.

In preparation for a real emergency, SCARES club members participate in emergency drills and exercise along with other Scott County Emergency Service Agencies.
